Our Wolf Pack

The Coleville Wolves football team arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada with a dream:

to be crowned Class1A State Football Champions

Like all teams that fight for state athletic crowns, they had to BELIEVE first

 And They Did.

The Coleville Wolves believed, from the very first practice, they were not a one-athlete team, (as has been stated over and over).

They believed in the guy in pads to their left and right (playing with the same friends and athletes since elementary school) to learn new positions, run new routes, execute new plays.

They believed in Coach Sandy (who has been at the helm for the last 16 seasons)
to prepare them once again to give all they have
 and then give more.

They believed they could, once again, represent Coleville High School and 1A Northern Nevada Football.

And They Did.

On Saturday, the Coleville Wolves played the Pahranagat Valley Panthers at Arbor View H.S. in Las Vegas, in a rematch of last year's State Football Championship.  At the end of regulation the score was 40-6 and the Panthers were crowned 2010 Class1A State Football Champions.  The Panthers proved, once again, to be quite a good team.  A team that clearly believes in their program, is supported by community and staff and has built a foundation for their football program.  We tip our hats.

All that being said, we could not be more proud of our Coleville Wolves and what they achieved this year.  We lost, not one starting athlete from last year's team (as has been claimed), we lost six (5 to graduation and 1 to injury).  Losing six starters on an 8-man football squad could devastate a program if you let it

The Wolves Did Not.

The Wolves were determined to represent the North once again.  They came back from injuries, played through pain, fought each battle together, learned new plays and schemes (offensive and defensive), believed in their coaches and always demonstrated incredible sportsmanship.

We could NOT be more proud of the season you had, the goals you set and the young men you continue to become!

It was incredible to come out & support the team each weekend, to watch the teamwork displayed week to week and watch the dream unfold.

We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments with you at the Fall Sports Banquet on November 29th, in the Jackie Giorgi Gym.  Dinner begins at 6:00pm.

Forever Blue and Gold!

Leaving It All on the Court

The 2010 Coleville Wolves Volleyball team competed against the Lady Pahranagat Panthers in the Class 1A State Volleyball Championship game November 13, 2010 at Bishop Manogue HS in Reno.

The championship game was played just a few short hours after the Lady Wolves volleyball team won a come-from-behind victory against the Lady Tonopah Muckers in the semi-final game.  A memorable game for all in attendance undoubtedly.

As memorable as the semi-final game was, the Lady Wolves weren't able to pull off such a feat the next morning when they faced off with the Lady Panthers.  The Pahranagat Lady Panthers were crowned Class 1A Champions in a sweep of the Lady Wolves

25-20, 25-14, 25-16

While the scores determined a State Champion, the heart of the Lady Wolves left quite the impression on all who came out to support them.  We could NOT be more proud of you and the fight you demonstrated this year!

The Lady Wolves hope to build on their incredibly successful season again next year, with the return of several key players under Coach Kraft's direction.

We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments with you at the Fall Sports Banquet on November 29th, in the Jackie Giorgi Gym.  Dinner begins at 6:00pm.

Coleville in Five!

The Coleville Lady Wolves defeated the Tonopah Lady Muckers in last night's 1A State Semi-Final Volleyball Game to advance to the 1A State Volleyball Championship Game today.

The remarkable thing isn't that they had to win in FIVE, it's that they DID win in FIVE.

The Coleville Lady Wolves lost their first two sets with scores of 20-25 and 13-25.  They found themselves down in the third set 14-8 and then something happened.  The Coleville Girls went back to their "bread and butter" and began attacking the Tonopah Lady Muckers with fierce determination.  When Tonopah returned an attack,
the Coleville Girls set up
another and another and another.

The Coleville Lady Wolves were resolved.
 Resolved to Win.
They absolutely competed with everything they had, every rotation, believed in each other, believed in Coach Kraft and in the end, it proved to be more than the Tonopah Lady Muckers could handle.

20-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-16 and 15-10

The Coleville Lady Wolves won the game and proved, not only to themselves but everyone in attendance, what you can do if you play like a team and BELIEVE.

It was remarkable, there really is no other word for it.

CONGRATULATIONS Lady Wolves, we could not be more proud of you.

Today, the Lady Wolves will be back in action in the 1A State Championship Game @ Manogue High School in Reno, Nevada.  Game time is set for 10:00am.
