CONGRATULATIONS
LADY WOLVES!!!
On the boys side, the Wolves took on the hometown Virginia City Muckers and at the end of regulation, solidified second place in the Western 1A League,
68-65.The Wolves jumped out to an early lead against the Muckers, only to see it diminish in the second quarter.
The Wolves fell behind the Muckers by as many as 11 points in the third quarter. But the Wolves fought back, as they had done all season, with tough defense, smart offense and making freethrows.
Down by 8 points, with four minutes to play in regulation, the Wolves inched back to regain the lead with less than two minutes to play. But the determined Muckers regained the lead by one point, with under a minute to play.
The Wolves were not finished. An unsuccessful shot attempt by the Muckers gave the Wolves the possession with 26 seconds left in regulation. With that possession, the Muckers fouled Emmi Sandoval sending him to the line for two shots. Sinking both and with time running out, they sealed the victory, 68-65.
