Lady Wolves Win While Boys Lose Heartbreaker

The Lady Wolves clinch second place in the 1A Western Basketball Division with a win on Friday night against the visiting Hawthorne Lady Serpents,
49-47.

The girls came out focused in the first half executing, shooting well and playing tough defense.  They posted a 31-18 lead at halftime.  Mineral was able to slow the girls down in the second half, but the thirteen point cushion at half-time proved to be enough to seal the victory.

CONGRATULATIONS Lady Wolves!!!

At halftime, the crowd was entertained by a paper airplane making/flying fundraiser.  Thank you to everyone who participated, it was a lot of fun!

In the late game, the Coleville Wolves lost a heart-breaker to the visiting Hawthorne Serpents, 60-59.   The boys game had both team's respective fans on the edge of their seats, witnessing many lead changes throughout.

The Serpents jumped out to a 6-0 lead and  the Wolves came firing back.  The Serpents had a 3 point edge at half-time, but saw the Wolves tie the score on their first possession in the third.

It was back and forth the rest of the way.  As everyone expected, the game came down to the final possession and Coleville with a 1 point advantage.  Mineral County attempted a shot with 9 seconds to play, rebounded the missed shot and put it back for the win.

It was such an exciting game and a HARD one to lose but we are so proud of you!!!
